Club Meeting Minutes
Wednesday, June 3rd, 2026
7:30pm Sal Levy, President, called the meeting to order
President’s Report
Sal kicked off the meeting by presenting the minutes from our May meeting. Minor tweaks were needed: Allan Pearlman needs two ll in his name, Frosty’s has no “I”,
Treasurer’s Report
Anthony Oliveri presented an abbreviated report. Club is in good financial standing, gold coast registrations are coming in. We are in good shape.
Ride Chairman’s Report
John Greene announced current ride leader points are posted on wall. Spoke about the success of the Bagel Breakfast ride on Saturday. Mentioned the B+ and C+ groups met at Kings Park.
Encouraged leaders to post rides as early as possible in the week, so riders can make plans to rid.
Safety – John mentioned that riders should go through lights as a group and make sure cars are stopped. Follow the ride leader through. When calling out holes and hazards please try to point to the object as well – riders don’t always “hear” the calls, but they do “see” riders’ arms and hands. So, pointing, when possible, helps group members that cannot hear you.
Please ride single file whenever possible.
Sal asked us to remember to put chairs back from where they came after our rest stop breaks. Often, we pull extra chairs together to sit around a common table and … we forget to put them back which causes more work for the proprietor.
Karen Gellert’s Jersey Report
Karen has a few club jerseys available for purchase. $49 each for some of the older ones and $70 for our current club jersey.
Membership Report
Allan Pearlman indicated the club has 252 active members with 218 memberships (meaning families etc.)
Newest members this year include Eleanor Abbott, Alexander Amara, Barbara & John Bioniarz, Cynthia Boeggman, Andrew Galli, Stephen Halpern, Mike Matty, Randy Morocho, Prasanth Nair, Andrew Peterkin, Sal Romanelli, Fred Schlach, Marc Wong,
Stephen Halpern was in attendance at the meeting.
Gold Coast Chairman’s Report
Steve Labiner confirmed we have 92 cyclists registered for the Gold Coast so far. EARLY bird special discounts end on June 9th, so get your friends to sign up now.
Bruce White from the National Memorial Rail Tour has garnered live music for the Gold Coast. He is also encouraging us to sign up for one of his rides. Steve reminded everyone that we should try to help the people who are helping us. Please look at the available tours.
Still looking for help to work with Phil Creutzman and load tables for drop off at each rest stop. This is an early stat position. 6am
We need 2 people for the SAG WAGON – to help riders in distress.
We need more sponsors
REI (Nikita) will be at Harbor County Day School. Justin, from North Shore Bicycle Club will provide support at Kings Park.
We need to print shirts soon and we need 1 month for production so lets get sponsored rounded up!
Sal mentioned that all leaders will have first aid kits
