Huntington Bicycle Club
Meeting Minutes
Wednesday, July 9th, 2026
Harborfields Library
7:30pm Sal Levy, President, called the meeting to order
President’s Report
Sal kicked off the meeting by presenting the minutes from our June meeting. A motion to accept the minutes was made by Paul Modelewski and seconded by Anthony Oliveri. The minutes were approved.
Treasurer’s Report
Anthony Oliveri discussed 2026 CLUB FINANCIALS. Revenue from Gold Coast registration fees and Membership fees are coming in. Sponsorship revenue is down this year vs last year but otherwise we are in good shape. Gold Coast expenses are starting to come in.
Vice President’s Report
John Greene asked if anyone read the last Ride Chairman email. He will be sending these out regularly and would like club members to read them.
Membership Report
Allan Pearlman gave an update on membership … the club has 251 active paid memberships. The club has 7 or 8 new members since last month.
Gold Coast Chair Report
Lahey is set for Sunday’s Gold Coast start and finish – the school is supplying tables, chairs and bathroom access, all of which saves on expenses.
New this year - we will have a band for the post-ride party plus pizza, ice cream and more.
Harbor Boating Club is donating the ice.
Steve encouraged everyone to bring a canned good – we will have a collection bin for Long Island Cares.
Kids need more is donating mini bagels
Starbucks is donating coffee plus accessories - milk, sugar, cups, etc.. David Marchi volunteered to pick it up Sunday morning at 6am and bring it to Lahey.
The three 25 mile “guided” rides have 31 registrants already. Indicates people enjoy riding in a guided group experience and could be a good way to grow club membership.
We will need signs at Lahey indicating where registrants for the “guided rides” should meet to find their group and group leader.
We will need signs at Harborfield High School pointing to the new start location at Lahey (just in case people show up at the high school out of habit, forgetting that we have a new start location this year).
This year we will open “day of registrations”. Malachy and Allan will be at registration to assist with registrations, as well as help with memberships should people want to join the club on Sunday.
50/50 Raffle. $130 collected – David Marchi won the 50/50 $65. David then donated his winnings back to the club.
Wrap Up
8:45pm Sal adjourned the meeting
